Samuel,

I took a look at
opennms-config-model/src/main/java/org/opennms/netmgt/eventd/datablock/EventUtil.java
which is used to decode the %..% strings inside the event text message.
Unfortunately, I don't see an easy way to get an IP address out of the hex
string. My suggestion is that you open an issue on http://issues.opennms.org/
asking for an enhancement for this.

What would be nice in the template engine is a way to convert the value from
one format to another. So you could take the base64 text value and display it
as an IPv4 or IPv6 address. There have been times I've found when editing a
notification that it would have been nice to have a access to the java objects
used instead of being limited by what the template engine allows via the %..%
strings.

Objet: [opennms-discuss] OctetString base64 in trap

Hello,

I receive a SNMP trap from a CISCO equipment.
In this trap I have a parameter.
In the database this parameter is stored as UF6yJA%61%61(OctetString,base64).
In the web interface, I see cikePeerLocalAddr   0x505eb224;
However cikePeerLocalAddr seems to be an IP address.
How can I see the IP address in a "clear" syntax ?

Regards,
Samuel Mutel.
