Fellow OpenNMS haxorz, An FYI in case anybody else is seeing the following after Eclipse crashes soon after startup on a GNOME 3.8 system:

To enable core dumping, try "ulimit -c unlimited" before starting Java again # # An error report file with more information is saved as: # /home/jeffg/git/opennms-sergey-ocs/hs_err_pid7123.log # # If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit: # http://bugreport.sun.com/bugreport/crash.jsp # The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code. # See problematic frame for where to report the bug. # I was seeing this crash with multiple JDKs, including the latest Java 7 from both Oracle and OpenJDK, as well as an OpenJDK 8 build. The workaround described in this bug report fixed the problem for me: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=405786 -jeff
