I'm running with JDK7 on Fedora 17. I also get a "failed" during startup
but this is due to the init scripts not working properly with the new
systemctl init in the newer Fedora. Even though it says "failed," the
process starts correctly. Which Linux distro are you using Markus? It's
possible that you're just seeing this systemctl init problem.

With the init scripts the way they are, I cannot call "service opennms
stop"... it never kills the process.
