Yeah, upgrade handles obsolete packages while update does not.

OpenNMS has an upgrade tool bundled with it that can handle fixing differences 
between versions. To me, that means that after a “yum update opennms”, it could 
potentially manage any differences between any two versions.

I could also see the upgrade tool only supporting the most recent N-1 version 
too. Then you’d have to do multiple upgrades to go from 15 to 16 to 17.

How often are we talking about seeing a new Horizon release? Twice a year?
