Because it won't make the ft2232 driver suck less, to any significant
extent.

Since 0.6.0 there is a completely rewritten driver for ftdi adapters
called... ftdi. Its status should still be considered experimental, but it
works well enough for daily use. It's better we focus our attention on the
new driver instead of trying to find workarounds for the many flaws in the
old one.
