Perhaps, I don't feel like arguing with you on that, I am just 
mentioning what a Microchip Engineer is telling me. NEC has had their 
V850 for quite a while and may
have modified it dramatically. The engineer was quite certain of his claim.
Personnally I couldn't care less. I was just curious to know if anyone 
knew about the debug module that is present on the device. Being based 
on a MIPS core
could imply that the module would be similar.
