Although this is a beautiful idea, it is not possible at the moment. The FSL distribution only includes a C library, and no perl modules.
There are ways to link a perl program to a C or C++ library, and if you are still interested then you can look into that. I'm no expert on this type of linkage however, and I expect that it is not very practical.
