Is it possible now to build and install OpenPKG packages on AIX 5.3 using the standard OpenPKG procedures (openpkg build ....) or is it still necessary to make manual adjustments? We would find it useful to use OpenPKG on AIX but at the moment it has not been a feasible option (we are severely time-constrained) and have been studying alternatives like pkgsrc which have other issues. If OpenPKG is close to being usable with the standard tools then it would be much more interesting and we would possible be interested in using it in preference to pkgsrc. The OpenPKG Twiki page I started http://wiki.openpkg.org/?BuildingOpenPKGunderAIX is out of date. Should remove it? Alternatively if 5.3 rpms are available and have been built using in a non-standard way this would be documented on this page. What do you or Ralf think?
