As you perhaps know, the system behind the OpenPKG Registry
(http://registry.openpkg.org/) which manages your fellowship
is the so-called OpenPKG Affiliation Services Environment
(https://secure.openpkg.org/ase), a web service based our OSSP ase.

When OSSP ase 0.1.x was developed in October 2005 by us we were not able
to implement account recovery, acocunt resign and account heartbeat
functionalities due to heavy time constraints. The OpenPKG GmbH has
investigated and we now finally have all of those functionalities with
OSSP ase 0.2.0. Today we switched the OpenPKG Affiliation Services
Environment from OSSP ase 0.1.x to 0.2.0. You perhaps already noticed
because as a result you immediately received a heartbeat request via
Email. This heartbeat happens every 3 months to allow OSSP ase to get
rid of obsolete accounts, free nicknames, get rid of accounts which
were registered under dummy or one-time Email addresses, etc. Please
understand that this is important to cleanup the OpenPKG fellow roster.

The new OpenPKG Affiliation Services Environment now also allows you
to recover your account in case you have lost your password or even
officially resign. Additionally, after logging in you can edit your
profile, i.e., change your real name, nick name and even set a new
password. Please especially set a nickname for you account as this will
be then displayed instead of your email address in forthcoming OpenPKG
web services.

Yours,
                                       Ralf S. Engelschall
