OpenSAF does currently not perform any echo signalling/heartbeating between nodes by itself. Instead, it relies on the underlying network protocol: TIPC or TCP. In the case of TCP, you can configure the settings in /etc/opensaf/dtmd.conf. For the TIPC case, you can use the "tipc" command to configure various settings - see e.g. "tipc link --help" and "tipc bearer --help".

Hi all,

Does anyone know how long it takes for a payload node to react to the loss of
heartbeat with the controller nodes?
Does the payload react immediately, or is there some debounce time, that is,
'x' loss of heartbeats within 'y' time period?

If there is a debounce time, can this be adjusted?

Setup:

- Opensaf 4.6.0 running on RHEL 6.6 VMs with TCP

- 2 controllers, 4 payloads

David
