Hallo, I am new to this list and I have the same issue with my brand new German D-Trust card. However, the hack given already does not work for me.
I was getting similar reader error (I am using Omnikey 4040 PCMCIA on FreeBSD). On http://akson.sgh.waw.pl/~saper/opensc/test-opensc-debug.log I have published the debug logfile of: pkcs11-tool -p 123456 -t --slot 0 Trying to sign a 20-byte signature (pkcs11-tool -s -i file...) yields identical results.
