Alon, I think the libassuan.m4 file is similar to your --disable-nsplugin code: extra code that is not necessary, because you can easily work around. but it makes live easier for some people, and I wouldn't know that it hurts anyone else. Unless one of you can show a real world problem with aclocal/libassuan.m4 included in the source code (except it being out of date which shouldn't harm), I'm all for keeping it in the source. the only problem I'm aware of was the combination of the old macros used to link with libltdl and they conflicted with ludovics system and required gettext for some reason. they are gone. if there are reports about similar problems with aclocal/libassuan.m4, please point me to them, I can't remember any.
