for some reason it went into swapping hell.

I tuned the apache config down to avoid this (apache eats most memory with 
~50M res per process). 2nd biggest memory user is postgresql - anyone has
hints here? I also limited postfix to less smtp processes to avoid sudden
bursts whenever an email is send.

also I'm not sure google, msn and yahoo need all that data they download
all the time - 10/5/5 gb per month or more. I started a robot.txt to disallow
parts of each trac instance.

should we allow google to access the source view in trac? or limit it (how)?
for now I banned parts of each trac and certain urls like /svn/ and the test
repository.

wiki pages and tickets are off course still visible, as is the mailing list
archive and the normal web pages. if you are interested in the subject,
please have a look and comment how we can improve it. developers can directly
edit it (checkout https://www....org/svn/web/trunk/ and edit the files and
commit - will live update the web page).
