Hello, Regarding the use of the configuration file maybe we could use a Config::Model [1] model to edit/change the configuration file?
Config::Model is written by a Debian developer and can be used to automatically upgrade configuration files from different versions. Config::Model provides a GUI to the edition. Because the GUI uses a model the configuration file is always correct. Just a thought.
