I persoanlly would like to move to GLSL as much as possible. Now that
the OpenGL 2.0 spec is official and everybody has GLSL support it seems
to be the cleanest alternative. I haven't been to get a clear statement
from nVidia concerning CG's future. I guess they wouldn't want to shock
their users, and their tools currently are focused on CG, so they can't
abandon it yet.
The biggest issue I see is the lack of a multi-pass metafile format like
CGFX. I haven't come across any proposals for that, only some vague
hints in the ARB meeting notes. Has anybody else seen something about
this?
