Hi,

has anyone experienced some rendering problems on linux machines using kernel 2.6? We're not quite sure why a QT-application that renders the scene into a second window without problems on different systems with NV3x/NV40 cards and the 2.4 kernel (SuSE 9.0), but refuses to work on a notebook with a GeforceFX Go5200 and linux kernel 2.6.5-5.75: the additional window just remains black during the render process. All systems use the latest Nvidia driver (1.0-6111) and the additional extensions needed for the rendering (NV_occlusion_query/ARB_occlusion_query) are properly loaded. Apart from that, there is no difference if the scene is rendered plainly (i.e., without any querying) - the problem remains.

Do you have some idea? Why should the kernel interfere that silently with OpenGL/OpenSG, as the rest of the application works just fine? Or should we doubt Nvidia's technical specs assuring 100% compatibility for the mobile Geforces with their desktop counterparts...?

Any help appreciated,
Matthias

p.s.: Sure we'll prepare another 2.6-based system for checking, but maybe the problem is just at a completely different spot you've already come across...
