There was a message related to this topic a few days ago, but I want
to make sure I understand it correctly.  If you have MaterialGroups at
different levels in your hierarchy, I believe priority is given to the
MaterialGroup closest to the leaf node, rather than the MaterialGroup
closest to the root node.  Is that correct?

If that first part is correct, is there a way to override materials? 
In my particular case, I might like to render an entire scene with one
shader and no textures applied to all geometry.
