Hello,

2. Use an operating system that actually supports layout of non- european
scripts, e.g. Windows 2000/XP or Mac OS X (not Linux!).

I've checked it, it's currently only working on Mac OS, not on Windows 2000.
I'll try to figure out why it's not working on Windows.

Ok, I found out that it's also working on Windows 2000, but you have to install support for arabic language (or whatever language you use) from the Windows installation disk.

So, as a conclusion, when rendering non-european scripts with OpenSG, I strongly recommend to use Windows or MacOS and OSGTextPixmapFace or OSGTextVectorFace. There is only limited support for rendering non- european scripts on Linux/Unix, because there is no standard layout engine available. There is also limited support for non-european scripts when using OSGTextTXFFace due to the limitations of rendering technique used for TXF fonts.

Bye,

Patrick
