I know I have successfully compiled OpenSG on VS8 using cygwin and make,
but that was with a Beta 2. I'll try to get an Express Edition up and
running and see what I get. Might take a couple days though, too much
stuff going on right now.

I already compiled it with the VS8 Express Edition works fine for me, ok
I used scons but that shouldn't matter. Did you use the supportlibs in
OpenSG? There were some strange link errors with the VS6 compiled jpeg
and tiff libs I added some specialy hacked versions to the supportlibs.
