i created a new automake-based project (with kdevelop) added the necessary include/library paths and copied one of the tutorials. now the compiler chokes on this snippet.
ok, sorry for the noise.
in the meantime, i found the problem: i forgot to include all the cflags from 'osg-config --cflags'...
