Use the TXF Text, I think it has the highest performance (correct me, if 
i'm wrong!?). Usage is simple, but there's not much documentation about 
it. A little startup help:

TextLayoutParam layoutParam;
TextLayoutResult layoutResult;
TextTXFFace *face;

face = TextTXFFace::create("Arial");
face->layout(text, layoutParam, layoutResult);
NodePtr myTextNode = face->makeNode(layoutResult);

You may have a look at \Source\System\Text\testTextTXFGeo.cpp and 
testTextTXFTexture.cpp.
