If it needs more than one source it is too big. I see examples as 
feature examples, like a slightly more elaborate version of the tests we 
have now. If I want to know how to use a certain feature, I don't want 
to have to wade through tons of code to find out how. I would like to 
have them focused on demonstrating how to use this one feature and not 
be a full app with complex GUI. It would be nice if they had a simple 
GUI, but I would probably make a trivial abstraction for that, something 
like an extended SSM. I just need to decide which portable GUI toolkit 
to use for that, as we will need to include it in the dists.

I don't have a good name for them, but I would also like to have some 
bigger example applications a la perfly or SceneViewer, and those would 
be in separate directory hierarchy, but they would not be targeted to 
specific features.
