Hi,

Because we have quite a bit of investment in the name (trademark etc.)
we're not going to change it wily-nilly. But I don't mind giving it some
thought, as the question really is annoying and confusing.

Looking at the greek mythology I only found Ladon kinda nice and
available. It's a multi-headed dragon, which goes well with our
multi-threading and cluster focus, and lends itself for nice logos.

Our network-abstraction library inside of the Avalon/OpenSG framework
is already called Hermes with the namespace 'Hermes::' so I really
would like to see another name for OpenSG if we really have to
change it. (beside Hermes in the
greek mythology does deliver some stuff, it's really more related to
message-transport (e.g. a network-lib :))

I really like OpenSG but could life with Ladon.
(or enmira, white-monkey-image-generator, cluster-fox, ... :)

regards
  Johannes

Something to think of over the weekend... ;)
    Dirk
