I understand. I don't teach, but I do have a new baby and business to
run, so I can understand being pulled in other directions. I don't
really think we all need much of your time, mostly just e-mail and wiki
time to pull everyone together and point the way forward. Does everyone
else agree, or do we need Dirk to do a bunch of coding? :)

That said, one rough area in OpenSG 2.0 is the whol cptr/fcptr/whatever
issue. IMHO this needs to be resolved very quickly. The other big
issues for us are that OpenSG 2.0 needs to have all the capabilities
from 1.8 ported over. I think we just need to make a list on the web of
what needs ported, file tickets for them, and then have people start
volunteering to port things. As several people have shown over the past
couple months it is possible for anyone (user, power user, core
developer) to port things pretty quickly.

As far as specific features:
- We need clustering working. If this doesn't work we are dead in the
water on all our current projects. I just assumed that it did work. I
can over emphasize how important this one is. It is *the* killer
feature of OpenSG. It should always work and there should be a tests in
the test suite to make sure it keeps working. (anyone up for adding the
tests??)
- We need a VRML loader working ASAP
- I have seen some scattered reports of file/image loader and writer
code not being enabled or working. This needs to work.
- Basically, all the core stuff needs to work and then all the
capabilities of 1.8 need to work. I am willing to help prioritize some
of these things with everyone else, and I already have some engineers
here working on the code and fixing up some problems. It would help us
if there were a more organized effort so we could see what needs done
and how we can help.

OpenSG 2.0 is going to be great, we just need to work together to get
there. :)

Using Tomcat but need to do more? Need to support web services, security?
Get stuff done quickly with pre-integrated technology to make your job easier.
Download IBM WebSphere Application Server v.1.0.1 based on Apache Geronimo
