Reproduced and fixed it (and a good opportunity to try compiling OpenSG2
on my new Ubuntu Laptop ;). I just broke up the long init func into
pieces, which made the optimizer happy enough to do it.
I made it default true again but left the option in. We could take it
out again, unless there is a reason to keep it.
