Hello,I've been using 1.8 from CVS to learn OpenSG for the last few months,
after repeated failure to get 2.0 to build on OSX.
I've recently found that my vertex program is horribly slow on 1.8 under
OSX,
about 100x slower than the same code on the same hardware under XP.
So, that and a desire for the new features in 2.0 have me tilting at
windmills again,
trying to build 2.0 on MacOSX. Even if the shader issues aren't resolved
(seems Apple's GLSL implementation has issues) I want to move to 2.0.
I first tried building 2.0 under Linux (Centos 4/Rocks 4.2) and
with some minor tweaking of Boost.py (adding "34" to the toolset string)
have had success.
Trying to build 2.0 on MacOSX 10.5 leads to the sort of problems discussed
last May:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg09864.html
This thread trails off with no final resolution.
Some of the fixes suggested to get scons to find boost are rather
elliptical,
hence hard to reproduce.
Is there anybody who has managed to build 2.0 on OSX 10.5?
Is the scons.py in Tools/scons-local preferred on OSX now, or the public
version
(as recommended on the Trac site)?
Sorry if I missed something on the mailing-list.
Thanks for any help,
Bill
