my bad, the debug messages are compiled out in release builds, would you 
mind repeating this with a debug build? Sorry for the inconvenience.

hm, that is indeed not overly fancy ;)
The file you sent me offline loads fine under linux (64 bit), but I 
can't really spot any platform dependent code in the OSB loader. Strange.
