Do they remove the need for us to use custom versions?* On the RC of karmic we have : -frei0r-plugins :1.122.git20090409 -frei0r-plugins-dev : 1.122.git20090409 -frei0r-plugins-doc : 1.122.git20090409 -x264 : 1.0svn20090621 -libmlt : 0.44-2build1 -libmlt++2 : 0.44-2build1 -libmlt-data :0.44-2build1 -libmlt-dev : 0.44-2build1 -libmlt++-dev : 0.44-2build1
So in conclusion for frei0r-plugins it's ok, for ffmpeg it can be ok, for mlt it 's lost and for x264 it could be ok. *I suppose we could also take a look at what packages Kdenlive ship - maybe there's a possibility to maintain a common repository.* Is it possible ?
