Effects are not working on 3gp videos

Bug description:
Once I import a 3gp video file from my MyTouch 4G I am not able to add
effects. I also tried this on a .MOV file from my JVC Digital Camera
and it did not work either. I noticed it does play at a faster then
normal videos but that is easily fixed with the speed option. I am
trying to rotate the video using the rotate effect. I click on the
effect and drag it over to the video. It does not stick and does not
give me the option to right click on the video. When I try nothing
happens. I am using OpenShot 1.1.3 on the newest build of Ubuntu. I
believe it is 10.1 something. I installed it using the Ubuntu software
center. I really like this app and would love to use it more if it
could get working on these file formates. If you would like I can make
a screen video and send it to you. Please feel free to contact me. I
would like to help any way possible.
