clip properties are ignored when mask is applied

Bug description:
When I apply a mask to a video clip, any properties I had previously applied
to the clip are ignored.
It would be great if a clip's fade-in, fade-out and alpha settings were
retained even when a mask is applied.
Ubuntu 9.10
Installed via PPA
