It was what I was afraid, this is the dog that bites its tail. Python-mlt3 needs libmlt3 who her need the version 0.4.06 of ffmpeg who is not available on Lucid (the 4.05). I understand better why it is not in their PPA =>incompatibility. Arght If i could test on my LMDE. I will try in a virtualbox tomorrow.
