I have the same issue... I have updated Linux Mint Debian, 2.56 blender and I
have backported 1.3.0 openshot from experimental repository.
and I have

Blender Path:
/usr/bin/blender

Error Output:
No frame was found in the output from Blender

I can launch blender either by /usr/bin/blender or, obviously, just type
blender...
