Just posting the solution grabbed from Ubuntu forum. It works instantly. 1 - open a terminal and type: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sunab/kdenlive-release 2 - sudo apt-get update 3 - sudo apt-get install libmlt6 4 - sudo apt-get install libmlt++3
