Oh yes... forgot to add... for those having trouble with Singularity as
well. Add in your grid to singularity as usual, apply the settings. Then
close out Singularity. then find the grids_sg2.xml file in
.\SecondLife\user_settings wherever your application data folder may be.
I'm on Win 7 so my grids_sg2.xml file is in
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife\user_settings
Your newly created grid entry should be at the bottom. It may be named
"the lost continent of hippo" in the gridname section. Change that name
to whatever you want your gridname to be in the grid manager. Then where
it says
<key>loginuri</key>
<string>http://127.0.0.1:9000/</string>
Change 127.0.0.1 to your IP or FQDN
Save it and reload Singularity. Should be able to pick your renamed grid
and connect to it =)
The first time i did this it reverted my entry back to lost continent
and 127.0.0.1 so; you may have to do this one more time to make the info
stick (mileage may vary lol), just be sure Singularity is shut down
before making the changes. If all else fails and it doesn't seem to want
to keep the info, could always make the file read-only.
Hope this helps!

Aha! That did the trick. Apparently when using the grid manager to add
in the grid, for some reason, it wants to change the loginuri to
localhost in the xml file. The heck =/? lol
In any event, I found the grids.user.xml file and saw the problem
immediately in the section for my os instance:
<key>loginuri</key>
<array>
<string>http://127.0.0.1:9000/</string>
</array>
Changed localhost to my IP address and works like a charm.
Thank you so much Wade! =)

Chris, I had written the Firestorm developers to find out about this
myself, as to how to get to the JokaydiaGrid.
Here's their reply: (Jan 20, 2012) which worked for me on Windows XP,
but I could find no way to do the same sort of thing on a Mac. If
you try it, let us know (or me know) if it worked for you!
Obviously, replace "jokadia..." with your ow desired grids "loginuri".
A grid manager is on our list for addition. There is no ETA.
The workarounds are:
- Modify grids.user.xml, which is located in your user settings
folder.
- Modify the shortcut/launcher to add
{noformat}--loginurihttp://jokadia.metaverseworlds.com:8002/{noformat}>>
to the exec/target line.

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone is having issues with the last 2 latest
releases of Firestorm and connecting to their own OpenSim grid? I
can connect to one of the pre-configured grids in the list just fine
after enabling all the proper options to allow me to connect to
other grids... but I am unable to specify my own custom os server to
connect to whether it be by command line options, grid manager, or
editing the grids xml file to manually include it. I get a message
stating that it cannot resolve the DNS name and my console output
doesn't even record an attempt for viewer login... I get the same
issue on the latest Singularity viewer as well actually.
Following the same procedure to add in a custom grid; I don't have
any issues with the older viewers and they connect just fine. Would
any one happen to know if it is possible to get these viewers
working again on OpenSim?
Thanks!
