Thanks Nick.
We knew for the beginning that relying on a service that may be
suspended or discontinued at any time was a weakness.
We use an external Mumble server in the meantime, but this is a less
than optimal solution. Visitors are instructed to install a Mumble
client and audio settings may turn hairy.
If anybody interested, setting up a Mumble server (murmurd) on a
Linux box is a 5-minute job.

Hi Jeff
I sent them an email yesterday and received this answer:

Thank you for your patience. I have just received an update. We've isolated
the issue and our Ops Team is working on upgrading our infrastructure. We
are expecting systems to be coming back over the next few days with a
target completion time of mid next week. Until finished
connection/transmission
will be in an intermittent state. We apologize for the delay.
