We run a BOINC project called Zivis during last year and out partners were so happy about it that it will be relaunched as permanent platform early next year. In the new implementation we will increase the social net aspect of Volunteer Computing, so we were already thinking on an API for people to interface with the users and groups of the BOINC database.
After the announcement of OpenSocial, we have decided to put some resources to implement an OpenSocial SPI towards the BOINC user & groups database. If someone else is thinking along the same way, I would like to hear about it. Our plan is to have some working SPI module to be released about the December 15th.
