Hey Guys,

As you've already found, the compiance test suite is a great place to start
to make sure that everything is functioning correctly, which should be step
one before you can run any other apps :)

Other apps that are nice for simple tests for your settings UI etc are the
less social / iGoogle ones like:
http://www.google.com/ig/modules/horoscope.xml
http://www.labpixies.com/campaigns/todo/todo.xml

Next to that to get 'real' social apps, as you've found out, there's no good
solution for this yet, there's a couple of factors involved like that apps
work better on a platform when their look and feel is more integrated
(leading to versions for each specific platform), plus there's no central
repository yet (this is something I hope we will see in the future).

So for now what works 'best' is that you look at the gadget xml file of the
gadget you would like to have on your platform, look at the author_email tag
in it ... and email the gadget dev asking him very kindly if he wants to
make his gadget available on your site :) Make sure to have your container
name (the &synd=<foo> or &container=<foo>) ready (and make sure this isn't
'default'), and that your public certificate accessible btw.

Hope that's at least some help!
