The end point exists, at least if you're using the trunk versions of shindig and partuza which support OpenSocial 0.9.
The released versions (release 1.0 which supports OpenSocial 0.8) do have a implementation of the 'old' messages end point in shindig, however Partuza didn't support messages back then, hence the need for the trunk versions of both.
