Greetings everyone, The New York OpenSolaris User's Group (NYCOSUG) will be holding it's next monthly meeting on Thursday, May 29th at the offices of Sun Microsystems Inc., in midtown New York City! / I know 5/29 wasn't going to be a good date for at least one of our local members - apologies but all other dates aren't feasible as I have to be overseas for 2 weeks on business and the last week of May is shorter due to Memorial Day. /
Location: Sun Microsystems, Inc. 101 Park Avenue, 4th Floor (Northeastern corner of Park Ave and 40th street) New York, NY, 10178 (additional details, RSVP, etc. - below) [Please RSVP by 5/27, so your name will be on the list] We'll get started with refreshments @ 6pm. Featured topic will be on the subject of DTrace development and associated experiences, presented by our very own community member Chad Mynhier. Chad has also attended dtrace.conf that was recently held in San Francisco. If you care about DTrace and want to get better at understanding it, you likely won't regret attending this one! Chad has presented to us earlier last year on the subject of his code contributions to OpenSolaris. His paper has recently been accepted at the upcoming OpenSolaris Developer Conference, set to take place in Europe this summer. Details for that event (and Chad's talk) are here: http://www.osdevcon.org/2008/program.html Agenda: 6:00-6:30 Doors Open, Snacks, Drinks 6:30-6:45 What's New in OpenSolaris - Isaac Rozenfeld 6:45-7:45 Experiences with DTrace development - Chad Mynhier 7:45-8:15 Wrap-up, Raffle, Social Networking, Q&A Please take a look at the agenda, venue, and please don't forget to RSVP ...
