Hello all, I'm pleased to announce a new project: OpenSolaris Security Audit
Auditing means collecting and storing security-related information about system resources and user actions in a reliable and secure way. On top of the existing auditing subsystem the project's goal is to design, develop and discuss new audit features, configuration and reporting tools, IDS integration etc. We'd also like to promote audit adoption as one of the core components in system security design and make the auditing setup as simple as just running: bash-3.00# svcadm enable auditd bash-3.00# svcs auditd STATE STIME FMRI online 13:35:33 svc:/system/auditd:default ie. no reboot, no complicated setup, no need to dig deeply into the system internals.
