The OpenSolaris Governing Board has set the calendar for the 2009 elections, in which the members of the board for April 2009-2010 will be elected, and a new version of the OpenSolaris Constitution will be put up for a vote.
To be eligible to vote in this election, you must be designated as a Core Contributor by at least one Community Group or the OGB itself, before Monday, February 16, 2009. Note that Core Contributor status expires after two years, so many of those originally granted status to vote in the first OpenSolaris elections in 2007 will need to get their status renewed in order to vote this year. The full timetable planned for the elections is: Election Event Effective Timestamp -------------- ------------------- Deadline for Core Contributor Grants for voting in this election Mon Feb 16th (00:00 hrs) Nominations Open Mon Feb 16th Annual Meeting begins Thu Feb 26th (12:00 hrs) Submissions for Constitutional Amendments and other Ballot Questions Close Fri Feb 27 (23:59 hrs) Nominations Close Mon Mar 2nd (23:59 hrs) Election Voting Open Mon Mar 9th (00:00 hrs) Election Voting Closes Mon Mar 23rd (23:59 hrs) Election results posted Tue Mar 24th (sometime) New OGB takes office Wed Apr 1st (00:00 hrs) Further updates and details will be posted to http://opensolaris.org/os/community/ogb/elections/2009/ as they become available.
