The Atlanta OpenSolaris User Group will have its August meeting on Tuesday, August 11 at the offices of Sun Microsystems, 3655 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA.
The topic for this meeting is COMSTAR, the Common Multiprotocol SCSI Target framework within OpenSolaris. COMSTAR allows an OpenSolaris host to present storage targets via a variety of protocols: FC, iSCSI, FCoE, SAS, and eventually others. This allows the powerful tools such as ZFS and DTrace within OpenSolaris to be used to provide an even more capable storage platform. COMSTAR is one of the key enabling technologies for the Sun Storage 7000 family of OpenStorage products. Come hear about what COMSTAR is, how it works, how it can be put together, and see demos of COMSTAR at work. With this August meeting, two changes are coming for ATLOSUG. First, we are returning to a monthly schedule of meetings. Secondly, we are beginning an experiment with venues. For the last year or so, we have been the beneficiaries of Matrix Resources sharing their facility with us. We plan to continue to meet at Matrix, but to rotate between the Sun office in Alpharetta, Matrix near Perimeter, and a potential new location in Midtown. *What:* Atlanta OpenSolaris User Group *When:* Tuesday, August 11, 7:00-9:00pm *Where:* Sun Microsystems, 3655 North Point Parkway, Suite 600, Alpharetta, GA 30005 *Topic:* COMSTAR - OpenSolaris Common Multiprotocol SCSI Target framework *Speaker:* Scott Dickson, Sun Microsystems *More info and directions*: http://opensolaris.org/os/project/atl-osug See you there! --SCott -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
