Hi All- Great news! The second OpenSolaris Developer Summit will be held at the Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz on the 3rd and 4th May 2008. Sponsored by Sun Microsystems, the summit is not a traditional conference or exhibition, but rather a small, in-person, collaborative working session to plan the next release of OpenSolaris.
-- We have a large room block at the Scott's Valley Hilton for $179/night. You may begin booking rooms as soon as I send out the code word. This should come Friday. -- Please sign up, if you haven't already, for our Summit alias, opensolaris-summit at opensolaris.org <http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/opensolaris-summit>. -- The registration wiki <http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/OpenSolaris_Summit>will be refreshed and ready by the end of business today. -- Please plan to arrive Friday evening. We will be hosting a dinner/reception in the lobby. -- Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served Saturday. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack will be served Sunday. Also, for locals driving in, please note we are planning for a very special off-site program Saturday evening. Your attendance is highly encouraged (and believe me, you'll have a blast). The program will end before 10pm. -- If you plan to attend CommunityOne and/or JavaOne, we will provide transportation up to San Francisco on Sunday soon after the last session. -- Finally, if you would like travel sponsorship but have yet to request it, please do so immediately. E-mail your info and your reasons for requesting sponsorship to jesse.silver at sun.com. I will be awarding the funds March 28. And of course, please email me with any questions you might have.
