I'd like to announce that the OpenSolaris Tesla Project at:

... is now live. Project Tesla seeks to provide OpenSolaris with a
platform independent power management
policy architecture and administrative paradigm, leveraging existing
(and forthcoming) mechanisms
for power managing system resources.
In the short term, the project will investigate implementing power aware
scheduling policy to better leverage
forthcoming CPU power management mechanisms.
If you are interested in power management, the associated polices, and
how they interact (or should interact) with
various platform independent kernel subsystems, like the dispatcher, VM
subsystem, etc, i'd like to encourage
you to visit the above project site and join in the fun.
