Hi,

We hope you all had a Happy New Year and are ready for the next FROSUG
meeting! We are excited to announce that this month's meeting will be
featuring a presentation on ZFS! In addition to that, we are working on
getting a group of individuals from CU Denver to come talk to us about a
project they have been working on using OpenSolaris titled Grids on
Solaris Zones.

Here are the details about the meeting:

Where: Sun Broomfield campus, Conference Center #1 & #2 / Bldg #1
Address: 500 Eldorado Blvd.
         Broomfield, CO 80021
Agenda:
     5:00pm - 6:00pm: Grids on Solaris Zones
(Note: Just to let you all know, we are still in the process
of getting the Grids on Solaris Zones presentation setup.
If there are any changes, we'll notify you via email prior
          to the meeting.)
     6:15pm - 6:30pm: Let's eat! We'll be ordering pizza so come
          hungry!
     6:30pm - 8:30pm: ZFS

RSVP by sending your first and last name to
frosug-rsvp(AT)opensolaris(DOT)org by January 18th. This will help us
know how much food to get and allow us to make badges in advance.

We realize that not everyone will be able to get here at 5:00pm so feel
free to come whenever you can. Just so no one misses anything, we won't
start the ZFS presentation any earlier than 6:30pm!

Before we close, here are some details about ZFS and our presenter:

Our presenter is Mark Maybee, a Solaris engineer who has spent the last
five years working on ZFS. So, whether or not you have heard about ZFS,
this will be a great opportunity to learn what it is all about.

>From the ZFS community page, ZFS is a new kind of filesystem that
provides simple administration, transactional semantics, end-to-end data
integrity, and immense scalability. ZFS is not an incremental
improvement to existing technology; it is a fundamentally new approach
to data management.
