One area of possible concern is the naming of the info pages.  
Specifically, GNU/Linux (gawd that sounds awful) call GNU tar "tar", and 
"info tar" returns meaningful information on that version.

On Solaris, /usr/bin/tar (and indeed "tar", unless /usr/gnu is in your 
path first!) will be the Solaris version, and thus "info tar", as 
proposed by this case, will have information about the program called 
"gtar" rather than the program called "tar".

IOW, wouldn't it make more sense to rename the info page to 
"gtar.info"?  (Of course, that has its own implications for people 
working on Linux systems used to typing "info tar".... you just can't win!)

Btw, the man pages have the same issue, right?  They have to be gtar.1, 
not tar.1, to avoid collision with our Solaris versions.
