I'll let Shiv answer the first two (FWIW, when I install expect from the 
existing open-source, it installs the actual library as libexpect5.43.so 
with no symlinks to a versioned library.)  As for the latter question, 
there is a libexpect.3 man page in the materials directory.

The thing that pushes the materials out to the caselog on 
www.opensolaris.org hasn't run yet for this case, so the URL above 
doesn't exist at the moment.
