Proposal:
Integrate "convmv - Filename Encoding Conversion Tool" to next Solaris
minor release.
Detail:
convmv is a perl script which can convert file names from one
encoding to another. It works on single file name, directory
tree or on a file system. Only converts the file names, not
contents. convmv also takes care of symlinks: the encoding on
the symlink's target will be converted along with the sym
link.
convmv is very useful and popular within the GNU/Linux community.
It solves problems with migrating files from one filesystem to
another.
The latest convmv-1.14 version Will be delivered in SUNWconvmv
package with /usr/bin/convmv perl script and
/usr/share/man/man1/convmv.1 man page. Man page is provided in
case directory.
