This really has two separate parts: - Ability to select a terminal-only session: This ought be possible by putting a suitable 'xterm.desktop' file into the /usr/share/xsessions directory. Maybe we should ship such a file, but it should be possible to disable it. Which leads to the question why this xsessions directory is in /usr rather than in /etc ... - Fallback in case of misconfiguration: iirc in case of certain misconfigurations (e.g. if the selected xsession .desktop file points to something non-existing), the session fell back to a failsafe session. Is that (still) the case? - J?rg -- Joerg Barfurth phone: +49 40 23646662 / x66662 Software Engineer mailto:joerg.barfurth at sun.com Desktop Technology http://reserv.ireland/twiki/bin/view/Argus/ Thin Client Software http://www.sun.com/software/sunray/ Sun Microsystems GmbH http://www.sun.com/software/javadesktopsystem/
