I am sponsoring this closed approved automatic case for Lukas Rovensky.
It Obsoletes Jakarta Tomcat 4 Interfaces In Solaris 10 and the release
binding is patch. If anyone thinks this doesn't qualify for self review,
then I'll convert it to a fasttrack.

Thanks,
-Suha

1. Introduction
   1.1. Project/Component Working Name:
        Obsolete Jakarta Tomcat 4 Interfaces In Solaris 10.

   1.2. Name of Document Author/Supplier:
        Author: Lukas Rovensky

   1.3. Date of This Document:
        05/21/10

4. Technical Description:

    Obsolete Jakarta Tomcat 4 Interfaces In Solaris 10.

    4.1. Details:
         The goal of this case is to clarify that all Jakarta Tomcat 4
         interfaces are obsoleted in Solaris.

         Tomcat was upgraded to version 6 in Nevada through series of
         incremental upgrades, see:
            * CR 6447186 update apache tomcat to latest stable release
              (5.5.17), [3]
            * CR 6750918 Upgrade Tomcat to version 6.0.x, [4]
            * PSARC 2008/711 Tomcat 6, [1]
         The above means that in Nevada / OpenSolaris / Solaris Next there is
         currently only Tomcat 6.

         In Solaris 10 and 9 Tomcat 5.5 was added to original Tomcat 4 packages
         via patch, see:
            * PSARC 2008/065 Tomcat 5.5, [2]

         Tomcat 4 is considered as deprecated and not supported by community
         for a long time, [5].

    4.4. Out of Scope:
         The possible further action would be to actually remove Tomcat 4 from
         Solaris 10 (e.g., in update 10). Separate PSARC case will be required.

    4.5. Interfaces:
         The release binding is patch.
         The following interfaces will be obsoleted:
 ____________________________________________________________________________
|    Interface                  |Commitment  |Comments                       |
|_______________________________|____________|_______________________________|
|/usr/apache/tomcat/bin         |uncommitted | startup scripts               |
|/usr/apache/tomcat/lib         |uncommitted | Tomcat jar files              |
|/usr/apache/tomcat/common      |uncommitted | Tomcat components             |
|/usr/apache/tomcat/server      |uncommitted | Tomcat components             |

    4.6. Doc Impact:
         Tomcat 4 does not have man pages, so information about obsoleting
         its interfaces will be included in Release Notes for S10U9. The
         following text will be used:

         "Jakarta Tomcat 4 might not be included in a future release. Tomcat
         5.5 and 6 provide the same functionality and users are recommended
         to migrate to higher a version of Tomcat".
